CONSULTING

During Mr. Giles 10 year career as a consultant, he has worked in various International settings -- Asian, European, Central and South America as well as Australia. His experience in starting up TV Shopping Services in these cultures has led him to collect this knowledge in a Start-up Manual. Mr. Giles was more experienced than most when he came to the start-up at QVC in 1986. He had already participated in two other start-up operations -- 1977, Warner QUBE Interactive Cable Experiment (Producer/Talent) in Columbus, Ohio, and 1980, Warner-Amex QUBE Cable in Pittsburgh (Vice President). Each of Ron’s projects was on-time and on-budget.

Providing the vision and design for 14 television studios and departments, and organizing the manner in which they would operate within Corporations for Ron, was an extension of creating Television Programs. Ron was an active Producer Director for Diamond P Sports, WBZ-TV (Boston), WCPO-TV (Cincinnati) and WBNS-TV (Columbus) from 1968 - 1986 and during those years received 6 regional Emmys and a Golden Iris Award from the National Association of Television Program Executives. 
 

Besides being adept at designing studio space and workflow, Ron is skilled at creating corporate organizational charts that goes beyond television production, efficiently linking key elements of the corporation. Over the years, Ron has learned that, although you need the best of both, people are more important than equipment and that employees will do their best when there are no organizational impediments to their function.

Ron’s approach to consulting is a time-honored one -- assessment of the need, agreement on the scope, establishment of a budget and timetable, designing the consulting plan, implementation of the plan, administration with organic changes.
